Town Creek Indian Mound historic site invites you to visit the new Sprout Conservatory which features year-round activities for students middle school to high school aged looking for a hands on learning experience. Students have the opportunity to engage in rituals and practices related to the Peedee people as they learn about local crops and history of the site. During the spring they will get to plant varieties corn, and in the summer months visitors will learn to harvest and dry it. During the cooler months they will grind corn using traditional methods, germinate acorns as well as grind and roast nuts for a tasty snack.
