Doll House
Oh mommy let me play I’ve waited for these toys so long
Why is daddy dead and where did all the kids go?
My sandbox is empty and filled with cat turds
But its mine. My mess.
The castles crumble and my cold fingertips turn white
I stand up shaking the grime from my pants to find I am alone. Where is my mommy with her messy hair and painted dress?
I know I am to wait until she returns but I can’t resist.
Moonlady take me away from here and I’ll paint your face in rainbows.
As I fly through the sandy pinched opening I fall on my feet. Broken but just as well. I’ll walk. The sand has doused my locks in glitter and I no longer think of my mother.
